Derek graduated from the University of Glasgow in 2011 and worked mainly in mixed practice until joining The Brook Veterinary Clinic in November 2017 as a small animal vet. He enjoys all aspects of the work but particularly surgery and takes great satisfaction from seeing very sick animals leaving the practice well again.
He lives and works on his home farm in Newtownbutler, where they keep suckler cows. His dog Jack is never too far away when Derek is home and although he has a mean bark, he is a big softie really.
